Fredrick A. Bell, CFA, CFP®

Fred A. Bell, CFA, CFPFred has been in the financial services industry since 1985. After graduating from the Haas School of Business at the University of California, Berkeley, he spent several years as a US Navy pilot, and earned an MBA at Chapman University. He then joined the investment management unit of a major financial services company, accumulating 15 years’ experience as a securities analyst, portfolio manager, and research supervisor on multi-billion dollar accounts. While there, Fred earned the Chartered Financial Analyst* designation.

In 2001, he chose to bring these skills to the individual and small business side of the industry as an independent financial advisor. He earned the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ ** certification that year, joining the elite group of advisors that hold both top qualifications in the investment and financial planning fields. He is active in the CFA Society of Iowa and the Financial Planning Association of Iowa.

* CFA® Charterholders are held to an uncompromising global standard of ethics and have fulfilled rigorous graduate-level requirements. They have passed three levels of exams, each requiring approximately 350 hours of study.

** Individuals seeking to obtain CFP® certification must pass the CFP® Certification Examination, a six-hour test of skills needed to perform comprehensive financial planning. They must also complete three years of financial planning work experience before receiving certification. Certificants have agreed to abide by Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards, Inc.’s ethical standards, as described in the Standards of Professional Conduct.
